Being a small business, we know how important it is to shop small and support your local family businesses. Many start as a dream and after hours, upon hours, of hard work the dreams become a small business. We have decided to start a Small Business Saturday blog series and highlight other small business.
Our first is one of our favorite go-to places for clothes, BIRD BEE. A local clothing and accessories boutique for the sweet rebels, rock -n- rollers and gypsies at heart. Taylor, owner/buyer, says she went to college for advertising and after landing a job at an advertising agency and working at the bottom of the totem pole, she knew she wanted to own her own business. BIRD BEE launched in November of 2015 and started growing at a rapid pace. In May of 2016, Taylor left her job in advertising to work on her business full time, which she says, “was the best decision ever.” I asked Taylor how she would describe BIRD BEE. “Bird Bee brings a little bit of west coast to the midwest, offering unique but quality styles and always at a moderate price.”
Bird Bee is currently a Top 4 Finalist in Hatch Detroit and could really use your help. Hatch Detroit is a vehicle to champion and support independent retail businesses, in Detroit, through funding, education, exposure and mentoring. BIRD BEE is currently running for $50k, to open a brick and mortar store in Detroit, so help out a fellow small business and head over to Hatch Detroit to vote for BIRD BEE. You can vote once ever 24 hours.
